Our vetting

What we screen for

Every accessory and every piece of equipment goes through the same two lists. This is a screening standard, not a superlative.

We require

  • Borosilicate glass, annealed and stated as such on the spec sheet
  • Bare stainless, ceramic, or anodized aluminum anywhere air passes through
  • A named maker who can describe their own material and process
  • Documented sourcing for parts, in writing, before the first order
  • Replaceable wear items: gaskets, screens, batteries

We reject

  • Low-grade or unlabeled alloys, especially in heated parts
  • Painted or coated interiors that can flake into what you use
  • Soda-lime glass sold as if it were borosilicate
  • Suppliers who will not say where a component was made
  • Sealed devices that become trash when one cell dies

Where a product includes electronics, we publish what we know about the supply chain behind it, including the parts we cannot yet verify.
